I've been spending more time than usual sitting on the front porch because one of our cats, Callie, who is NOT able to be seen in this photo, has decided that she likes being OUTSIDE. As much as possible. No matter how hot it is. Why? Who knows. She's taken to laying in the grass, just chilling out. Every so often she'll chase bugs, or try and run up a tree.
We don't just let our cats out to run. We go out with them and keep an eye on them so they don't wander away, get hit by a car, eat something they shouldn't, climb too many trees, or go under the porch. Basically it's like watching a toddler, but the cats are way faster. And smaller.
It's OK, though. It's fairly quiet where we are (so quiet we can sometimes hear the fish jumping in and out of the lake), and it's peaceful. So I sit outside reading, occasionally redirecting the cats, and enjoying summer.
